Groan. :(
It was difficult to watch the second half.
I recorded the game. Anyone want a DVD-R coaster?
I’ve been looking for the origins of a particular rhyme for years, I’ve never seen it in print, only spoken or sung, but I’ve heard it from people that live in different parts of the country.
Old Co-Sheepy
Where’s your little lambie?
Stuck in a ditch and it can’t get out
The buzzards and the flies
Are pickin’ at its eyes
And the little lost sheep is hollerin’ maaaaammeee
Keep in mind that I’ve never seen it in written form, so the first line could be;
Old Coal Sheepy, Oh Koh Sheepy, or something similar. Ever heard it?
What does this have to do with search? Try to find it on Google. Odd spellings can be tough to find, and I’ve heard this rhyme often enough to think that it would find its way to the Web in some form.
Buddylube? Warning! Music! Insipid dub, dub, dub dot buddy lube…
He lubes the best and loses the rest. Spread the lube.
Okay, apart from the name, the graphic they chose looks like a walking sphincter.
More madness from the Web 2.0 marketing front. And before ya say,
‘Man, it’s just name’,
Yes, I know, it was the combination of name, graphic walking bunghole and music that compelled me to be nasty and mean spirited. I really don’t want people ‘spreading the lube’. Which by the way, begs the question, why does your buddy need lubed? Sorry, the connotations are just all wrong with that one.
I’m really not being mean, this is a perfect example of why you need to give serious thought to domain names and the message you want to send, and how your message translates to other media. Would you walk around a conference with a Buddylube tee shirt?
Still going strong. In France.
Aside from the astounding fact that the blog tag meme is still going, check the pic of Hillary Clinton at the urinal. ; )
Mashable’s Insulting Comments Contest – $500 Prize!
C’mon, you know you want to…
I wanted a different perspective on the Social Web, Myspace, Digg, etc. I also wanted some fresh input on what is driving the young adopters of technology. So, I’m proud to announce that Jessica L. will be writing for this blog. She’s the 15 year-old junior editor of her school newspaper and one of my daughter’s best friends. She’ll be speaking freely at least once a week, every Wednesday evening.
If you have any questions for Jessica, please add them to the comments here until she starts posting tomorrow evening. The time she spends writing here counts as one of her assignments and is a large part of her grade. Welcome Jessica.
With no clients and no company to worry about, I can say whatever the hell I want to say about SEO/SEM and marketing in general. Speaking freely indeed.
